Implant Retained Overdentures

An unsecured denture can be painful, awkward and inconvenient. For many, an implant retained overdenture ends what has been years of pain and discomfort as a result of their dentures never being quite satisfactory. Missing teeth cause bone loss. This bone loss will cause shrinkage and changed contours of the jawbone, resulting in wrinkled lips, a sunken mouth and chin and dentures that no longer have sufficient foundation for effective retention.

The importance of correctly fitting dentures cannot be overstated. Accurately fitting, functional and efficient dentures are beneficial to a patient’s health and well being. To eat well and chew effectively is one of the most vital functions for a human being; put simply, well-chewed and digested food contributes to good health.

Dental implants have been used for over 50 years and are made of a high-grade bio-compatible titanium, which acts as an incredibly efficient anchor. Dental implants help to minimize further bone loss, while at the same time providing a denture wearer with previously unavailable levels of stability and function. With good oral hygiene and care, dental implants can provide a lifetime of denture stability
